When Naham Dolton was born in May 1848 in Illinois, his father, Richmond, was 32 and his mother, Priscilla, was 25. He married Louise C. in 1875. They had one child during their marriage. He had four brothers and eight sisters.

Dalton was 32 years old and lived in Center, Kansas with his wife, Louisa, and son Otis W. Dalton. (1880 United States Federal Census) Nahum I. Dalton married Lousa C. Dalton in 1875.

The 1900 US Federal Census for Topeka, Shawnee, Kansas, enumerated 15 Jun 1900, has a record of the Nahum and Louisa Dalton household. The names are really butchered in this record. Maham (Naham) I. Dalton was a white, male, born May 1848 in Missouri, married for 25 years, and was 52 years of age. His father was born in Kentucky and his mother in Indiana. Nahum owned his own farm. Lousa (Louisa) C. Dalton was Naham's wife, white, female, born April 1857 in Illinois, 43 years of age, she had two children, one of whom was still living. Both her parents were born in Germany. Otis W. Dalton was their son, white, male, born October 1875 in Kansas, age 24 years, single. Otis was working as a railroad clerk. (FindAGrave Memorial# 14614817)
